Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) is a medical specialty for conditions affecting pain, movement, nerves, muscles, joints and daily function. A PM&R physician, also called a physiatrist, provides non-surgical diagnosis and treatment, may perform EMG/NCS and selected image-guided procedures, and coordinates rehabilitation.
