Visiting the clinic
How do I book at PAF Hospital Islamabad?
Call 051 9564331 to confirm the current appointment process. You can also use WhatsApp 0335 4446664 for clinic communication.
What are the clinic hours?
Monday to Saturday, 8 am–10 pm; Sunday, 9 am–5 pm. Confirm when booking because hospital schedules and holiday hours can change.
What should I bring?
Bring your medicine list, allergies, referral if available, imaging and reports, previous prescriptions and any earlier rehabilitation plan.
Do patients from Rawalpindi or Peshawar consult?
The in-person clinic is in Islamabad and serves patients travelling from Islamabad, Rawalpindi and other regions. Selected telemedicine consultations may be suitable across Pakistan.
EMG/NCS questions
Are EMG and NCS the same test?
They are related but different. NCS evaluates responses along selected nerves using surface electrodes; needle EMG records activity in selected muscles.
Does EMG/NCS hurt?
Brief electrical pulses and the fine EMG electrode can cause temporary discomfort. The test is tailored to the clinical question.
Can the test diagnose every cause of numbness?
No. Electrodiagnostic testing has strengths and limitations and must be interpreted with the history and examination.
Injections and PRP
Is an injection necessary for every pain condition?
No. A procedure is only one possible option and should follow diagnosis, discussion of likely benefit, risks, alternatives and rehabilitation needs.
Does ultrasound guidance guarantee a better result?
Ultrasound can assist visualisation and placement for selected procedures, but it cannot guarantee symptom relief.
Does PRP permanently cure arthritis?
PRP should not be presented as a guaranteed cure or cartilage-regrowth treatment. Suitability and evidence should be discussed for the individual problem.
Recovery and telemedicine
Is rehabilitation the same as physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is often part of rehabilitation. A broader plan may also include physician management, occupational or speech therapy, equipment, medication review, education and family support.
Can EMG/NCS or procedures be done online?
No. These require an in-person visit. Telemedicine may help with selected follow-up, report review or rehabilitation planning.
When should I seek emergency care?
Sudden weakness, facial droop, speech difficulty, loss of bladder or bowel control, severe breathing difficulty, major trauma or other severe sudden symptoms need urgent local care.
